Review : Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY

sony ericsson phone review
This could be Sony Xperia Play a gaming phone that you've been waiting for this. Besides offering the flexibility of an Android device, PLAY also offers a certified gaming buttons that is predicted Playstation console is able to bring experience into a mobile device.

Design
119.0 × 62.0 × 16.0 mm, Side-slider form, 175 grams
Still the same as the previous Xperia, PLAY is made with a minimalist design with grooves on the back cover.  At the rear is dominated by one color glossy material made. Where then flanked by two sections  made of metallic on the front dominated the screen with glossy leaves little material around it.

This phone is shaped side slider, whereby when we shift the 'drawer', it will behold a Playstation-style controller mechanism. Reminiscent of the formation of the PSP Go, but smaller and slender.  There is a PS characteristic key, namely boxes, crosses, triangles and circles, direction buttons, start and Select, option buttons and two analog touchpad. While the L and R buttons back there in the same section but hidden by the screen is displaced out.
As a phone, PLAY not exactly light and slim. But as a gaming console (if you force it that way) then PLAY, including light. As explained above, there is no physical keyboard here, because for the affairs of the input text, PLAY surrender entirely on the screen.

Screen
TFT 16 million colors, 854 x 480 pixels, 4 inches
Sony Ericsson may not mention the display technology used in PLAY, but we safely state that the technology is similar to that used in the Arc. That is certainly pleasing to the eye, but there is a problem on power consumption and the development of the Android software.

However, of concern is the PLAY screen diagonal is qualified, either as a console or mobile phone. For comparison, the PSP GO uses 3.8-inch screen. Plus, PLAY screen is a capacitive touch screen is responsive and ready to give a wider gameplay experience.

Unfortunately, when compared to the phone screen 'gaming' rivals, the resolution offered by PLAY still less powerful.

Operating System and Software Support
Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread, Timescape, Playstation Pocket, Xperia Play, Office Suit

PLAY environment running on Android 2.3.2, aka Gingerbread. So far, the best version of Android phones to class. Good for users, as well as game developers. Many things can be done by the developer at Gingerbread, in conjunction with the Xperia PLAY include native and native sound input (OpenSL).

Next there is the additional of Sony Ericsson's own UI. Yes, Ala the Xperia, we can find Timescape, Mediascape and so on. PLAY special now, they were accompanied Playstation Pocket, ie applications for managing the Playstation 1 games and play them on Xperia PLAY. Currently no information whether we can add it later PS1 ROM or buy directly from a PC via an online store (which seems to have a greater likelihood).

And certainly there are applications Xperia Play. Applications that are named the same as the name of this cell phone on duty will bring up the game, and shop online games that are compatible with PLAY. We can play games via this application or shopping game.

Game
Congenital Game: Bruce Lee, Fifa 10, NFL 10, Star Battalion HD, the SIMs 3, Playstaion Pocket: Crash Bandicoot

Before discussing one by one game that we can play on Xperia PLAY, we will give you a little information, that the Xperia PLAY PSP is not a given cellular technology. At least until the time of this writing, Sony has not intended to deliver PSP games to be played at PLAY. They are still completely different console.

Although the hardware Xperia PLAY already better than the PSP, PLAY is still used to play games with the Android-based mapping system of the Playstation. In the future some Android game developers were ready to develop games exclusively, but rather just to PLAY the PSP format.

Promising indeed, at least if it is really developed specifically for the buttons PLAY playstation presented, then this phone could be the last console of Sony Ericsson.

Unfortunately, there is still a bit annoying pause when entered in a game. Something that may have been excluded in a portable console.

Game congenital (Pre-installed):
Bruce Lee
Xperia PLAY game is the best of five games provided. Not of course the graphics side, because the game in iPhonemasih better than this game, but from the gameplay, mapping keys are already 'clicked' and experience to offer.

FIFA 10
Fifa 10 is a version of the Android game with a number of improvements in controls. You can still control it via touch screen tablets. Graphic or less okay, so it is with gameplaynya.

NFL 10
It was not a popular sport in our country, but the game of American Football is the same as FIFA 10 which is a version of Android with the mapping button.

Star Battalion HD
Graphics are okay, the gameplay was interesting, and even can be called as the best game number two in Xperia Play PULSE version.

The SIMS 3
Playing the game is actually more comfortable using the touch screen. Just like the others, it's an Android game.

Pocket Playstation games (Preinstalled):
Crash Bandicoot
Naughty Dog game made in 1996 is a Playstation 1 game that you will find on the Xperia Play. As of this writing, this is the most appropriate game for the Playstation buttons on PLAY. However, due to including the old school games, then both the quality of graphics and screen orientation less than the maximum on-screen Xperia PLAY

Battery
Lithium Polymer 1500 mAh

As Android phones that require synchronization of data at any time via the HSDPA, WiFi and has a wide touch screen, the Xperia Play requires considerable resources. On the other hand as a portable gaming console, PLAY also need a large power to support the work of the GPU and other parameters that support a game.

Two things that really do not get along, if combined, while Sony Ericsson is only providing a capacity of 1500 mAh battery. If you want realistic, then the battery is less than the maximum in order to support the two functions mentioned above simultaneously. To overcome this Xperia Play provides a craddle, reminiscent of a similar strategy that used the Nintendo 3DS.
Similar though not equal, 3DS also carry a small capacity that is at least less able to support the 3D screen. So 3DS include craddle to senantias aterhubung with a charger when not in use.

Back to PLAY, the phone is set up a unique UI when associated circuitry craddle. You can use it sbegai digital clock, digital photo frame or music player.

Other Features
HSDPA, 5 megapixel camera, HD video recorder, 512 MB RAM, 1 GHz Snapdragon, Adreno 205 GPU

Conclusion
Sony Xperia Play is the most qualified Android phone gaming. In addition to the latest Android operating system and support a complete connection, the phone is equipped Playstation buttons for hardcore gaming.

Readiness of the software from Sony have given a thumbs but the fact that the game will be developed in the format Android is still somewhat sound less exclusive to this seeksklusif phone. We wait for its development.
